I think the best way to approach modern marcomms is to have a clear strategy backed by strong digital infrastructure.
This opinion is generally informed by my experience working agency- and client-side with a lot of organisations where I’ve seen the lack of either component have a strong negative impact on any effort that’s made.
I really do believe that having the right strategy backed by infrastructure that enables everything required by that strategy puts marcomms teams in an excellent position to consistently do great work.
